I have the best community of friends, fellow creators and patrons in the whole world. In honor of a particular group of these awesome people, my models, I am going to feature some of them right here on my blog. All my models are sincere fans of my work (thank you!) and have graciously given me their time and wonderful images of themselves to show the variety of Xmittens and Amber Coppings Designs customers there are. Up first is my very first model that started way back in ’06…Jenn Ferris-Glick!
*How did you start modeling for me? (what is your version of the story…:)
Amber and I met in an old apartment of a mutual friend she was painting. I remember she was wearing the cutest little blue skirt. She exclaimed that we were going to be good friends, “she just knew it” – then we started to hang out on her porch in the evenings…nearly at the same time I started to model for her.
*When you are not modeling for Amber Coppings Designs, what do you like to do?
I like to ride my bike. I have a total sense of freedom. I LOVE to spend time with my fantastic husband, Chad, our two cuddly dogs, Atsuko and Jezeus, and our furry feline, Matilda. Though I seem to not have enough time for all of those things as much as I’d like! Teaching yoga seems to take up a lot of my time, good thing I like it!
*What is your creative passion (or just plain ‘ol passion)?
I doodle a lot. I haven’t really had an opportunity in a while to really explore artist passions (painting, etc.). I do find that it comes out in decorating my house…And it comes out when I’m coming up with a Yoga class to teach.
*What kinds of items do you wear that I have made?
bubble wrap, xmittens (fleece, and hand dyed cotton), fleece jacket
*Do you have a favorite photo from your photo shoot?
Most recently, I’ve loved the yoga shots. They really instill a sense of serenity to me.
*How awesome are you?
Totally, super, duper, fantastically, awesome and full of radiant love and joy!
*What inspires you?
Working from a place in the heart, where I act only from love and compassion. Where I look at each opportunity as a chance to be of service to someone else or to spread a little light and love.
I wish I had the ability to clone myself…so I could get done all of the things that I’d like to. But my real power is my power to network, socially.
*A favorite quote:
If you can fall in love with just one thing about him, her, them, it, or you, Jennifer , just once a day, and speak it aloud, you’ll be surprised at how quickly this will transform your entire life.
I love that look on your face when the coin drops –

*Anything else you may want to share?
Amber Coppings is one of the most loving individuals I’ve ever met. I know for a fact that each piece she creates is made with that love in an effort to spread it far and wide. I think she can check this off of her list of successes!
(awww…shucks! I guess you really know me well, lovely friend)
