Hand-dyed Fabrics for 2012

Sneak peek into what is coming up for Amber Coppings Designs for 2012! These photos show samples of organic cotton jersey fabric that I have been hand-dyeing using low impact fiber reactive fabric dyes. The colors are vivid and rich…so exciting! This week I’m featuring two more shops that carry Xmittens in addition to a plethora of other intriguing goods. Once again if you’re looking to stay handmade and local this holiday season, I recommend checking out these places if they’re in your area.

First up, M Vintage!

Located in Jonesborough, TN, here’s how the owner describes the shop in her own words:

Many people encouraged me to write this E-Book (my first “How To”) and I’m proud to say it’s finally ready for mass consumption!

In this E-Book I share all that I’ve learned from over 5 years of selling my work online. It’s oriented towards people who have not, or just recently opened an Etsy shop and have not sold anywhere else online. 40 pages and 9 printable worksheets full to the brim with insights on how to set up an Etsy shop from how to describe your items, photo tips and ways to help you market your new shop on and off of Etsy! Plus, there’s photos of the inside of my Xmittens Etsy Shop so you will be able to know what you are getting into and a resource list with great links that will continue to help you create an Etsy shop.

Open Studio Sale with Amber Coppings and Adam Shreckhise

On Saturday December 17th from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, Adam Shreckhise and I will open our doors in Stanton Heights for an open studio sale!

I will be offering an assortment of my wares including Xmittens and bubbles scarves.

Adam’s finished paintings from PAM will also be available.

Last month it was the Food Bank, this month it’s the library.

During the week of December 11th – 18th , $10 for every jacket sold and $1 from all other items will be donated to the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh. Even better, join fellow artist Adam Shreckhise and I for our Open Studio Sale on December 17th. Local customers can order online and reserve items to pick up (save on shipping!!), or just come on by and peruse our creative goodies for some last minute gifts and indulgences. This week I’m featuring two more shops that offer a mix of handmade crafts, including mine! Once again if you’re looking to stay handmade and local this holiday season, I recommend checking out these places if they’re in your area.

First up, Shuze Boutique!

Located on the eastern side of Pennsylvania near Lehigh University, Shuze offers a mix of brand name clothes and accessories as well as a variety of handmade items. They even have stylists on hand to help you with your look! You’ll find Xmittens amongst the selection of eclectic accessories.

The second shop I’m featuring today is Whimsies Incognito!

Located even farther east, in Tarrytown, NY, Whimsies Incognito has been open for over 20 years. It’s described as “A funky, fun place somewhere between a gift shop and a gallery.” They’re the perfect place for decorative, handmade items for your home as well as wearable accessories and jewelry. Including Xmittens, of course!
