People are always wondering what my studio is like. Is it a huge warehouse? Is it still cold?
Well, yes, its still cold. I am wearing Xmittens inside right now as I type! I hate having high heating bills and Xmittens keep me warm. My textile studio is in my home in Pittsburgh since I can’t seem to wake up early and get anywhere else in time to actually have a work day. So, the entire second floor of my home is my art/textile studio. It works out since my lovely partner and fellow artist, Adam Shreckhise, has the garage to build his crazy stuff. You can imagine we do not have a lot of personal space in our small house, but we usually don’t mind. We love to create so much that we let our studios take over the house!
You can see I keep a lot of fabric on hand. I love the fabric roll rack Adam built! (You can see it in the background of the photo). It really helps when I am cutting fabric for the larger items like the Xmittens Jackets.
There’s a hanging rack that goes almost entirely around the room for finished goods and shelves, shelves, shelves for all of the in-progress goodies.
